RIVER CITY FIGHT NIGHT, Now With a Twist!
The Event
RED FIGHT & BLUE is the second event in the RIVER CITY FIGHT NIGHT series from River City Promotions, a close collaborator with Vintage Boxing Gym. Only two events into the series, this fight featured a special theme for its amateur bouts: Richmond cops vs. Richmond firefighters! The event consisted of two professional bouts (Jade Masson-Wong vs. Brandi Robinson; Andrew Kim vs. Donovan Ruddock Jr.) and five amateur bouts in the undercard at River City Roll on November 5th, 2025. The event saw a sold out VIP crowd with over 400 people in attendance, many of whom were first responders coming to show their support for those who keep our community safe. The chosen charities for this event included Guardian of the Gloves, The Children’s Hospital of Richmond, and The American Kidney Foundation.

The Fights
The undercard of firefighters vs. cops included the following matchups: Duane Peppel (cop) vs. Keivon Henderson (firefighter), Patrick Ripley (cop) vs. Mo’Reese Moore (firefighter), Devin Davenport (cop) vs. Wyatt Mesco (firefighter), Cody Adams (cop) vs. Jerron O’Tey (firefighter), Nico Young (cop) vs. Shalin Shah (firefighter).
With both a cop and firefighter going down across all five bouts, the energy in the room was positively electric. Some audience members came in support of one side, while some just wanted to see the punches fly. The amateur fights were refereed by Eric Ash, Founder and Coach at Vintage Boxing Gym.
The professional bouts featured Jade Masson-Wong vs. Brandi Robinson, two heavy hitting, welterweight female fighters from Canada and Chicago respectively, as well as Donovan Ruddock Jr. vs. Andrew Kim, also two welterweights from North Dakota and Richmond respectively.
Masson-Wong vs. Brandi Robinson ended in a close but unanimous decision with Robinson taking home the win. Likewise, Kim, a Coach at Vintage Boxing Gym got the win over Ruddock Jr., a special win for the Richmond natives that dominated the crowd. Spirits were high seeing an RVA rep take the win to earn 2-0 status in their relatively fresh professional career.
“I feel confident. I feel like I have a couple things I gotta work on in the lab, but I feel confident.” Kim said when asked for comment on his win. “I think my footwork and head movement- footwork, sense of distance, and defense in general helped in the fight.”

The Outcome
RED FIGHT & BLUE supports a returning non-profit organization, Guardian of the Gloves, as well as charities chosen by the respective departments represented by the cops and firefighters. The cops chose The American Kidney Foundation and the firefighters picked The Children’s Hospital of Richmond. The event raised a grand total of $6,000, resulting in each charity getting a donation of $2,000!
This event kicked off way more hype than the first, and is getting the ball rolling on momentum for future fights in the series. River City Promotions is excited to bring more combat sports to the RVA area and is looking for more sponsors for even bigger events! The next in the series is currently scheduled for January 21st, 2026 (as of November 13th, 2025)
